Arran is Scotland’s most easily accessible island, especially if you are arriving from England, or from overseas flights which are destined for Glasgow International or Prestwick International Airports.   A short  ferry trip (55 minutes) from Ardrossan on the Ayrshire coast, will drop you onto this very unique island - so different from the scenery you have passed through to get here.   Regular train services run from Glasgow Central Station to Ardrossan Harbour.   If driving, the main roads to use are the A71 (from the M74 motorway) towards Irvine, or the M77 from Glasgow to Kilmarnock, then the A71 westbound to the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal   www.calmac.co.uk  at Ardrossan.   There is also a seasonal ferry service to Lochranza, on Arran’s northern coastline, from Claonaig, on the Kintyre Peninsula (Argyll). The route to this smaller ferry service (also operated by Caledonian MacBrayne) is favourable for people touring the western isles or wishing to take in the longer scenic route from Glasgow, via Loch Lomond.   For contact details of the relevant travel services link to TRAVEL SERVICES

From Brodick pier (ferry terminal), turn left (signposted Lamlash & Whiting Bay).   On reaching Lamlash village, go past Lamlash Golf course on your left hand side.  At the bottom of the steep hill the road bends right onto Shore Road into the main village.  On this bend take the sharp left turn.  Follow this road for approximately 1/2 mile, past the hospital turn off and the sharp bend (passing Altachorevie Holiday Fellowship drive).  Take the second tarmac track to left off Shore Road, running parallel with Craig Dhu driveway (red chip gravel).  Go into the top entrance (signposted Craig Dhu) on right hand side and park your car at rear of property.
